Product Description
Camp Limestone

Jake Tanski is a troubled thirteen-year-old who faces a real dilemma in the summer of 2001: Should he spend the next school year at a military academy or at his Grandpa Nick s home in a sleepy town whose economy revolves around a limestone quarry? Despite the potential downside of living with his ex-military grandfather, Jake chooses this option as the lesser of two evils. See how Jake manages to survive his year at "Camp Limestone."

5 out of 5 stars A character and story all kids and adults will love   July 6, 2006

5 out of 5 found this review helpful

In his first novel, Paul Kijinski creates a wonderful protagonist, fast-paced plot and realistic conflicts, with which young people can empathize.

Jake Tanski is a troubled genius teenager, who gets the uninlisted help of his militant, yet caring, grandfather and a surprisingly sassy new acquaintance.

Readers will quickly warm to Jake, and his grandfather (a marvelously-crafted ancillary character), while learning valuable lessons about relationships, change in surroundings and the struggles of a nation at war with terror.

Camp Limestone is sure to become a treasure for young readers, who will doubtless want more of the brilliant and self-deprecating Jake Tanski. And anyone reading this captivating novel will certainly want more from Paul Kijinski, a new star in young adult literature.
