The MCAT prep book by examcrackers that I purchased was delivered in a timely matter and the books were in good condition and not written in (as was listed). I was pleased with the purchase.

The package was in excellent condition upon arrival. The set includes Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Verbal/Math.
I'll need all the books for the MCAT so the package was the way to go.

2 out of 5 stars Errata   August 4, 2010

I would recommend reading the feed back from Robert McKee. I think that he may be on to something. I only bough these because a professor recommended them (but he was that smart).

Pros:
-The company has a lot of practice problems (sold separately), which helps for practice.
-They do an okay job at reviewing the basic material covered on the MCAT.

Cons:
-I've found quite a few errors, especially in the problems, and occasionally in the material. Their website has all the errors listed, but you have to pay a subscription to join the form for access to what these errors are.
-I don't particularly like how they claim to be the supreme MCAT authority, claiming that using any other review will be detrimental to your score.
-The jokes are stupid, and not helpful.
-They have not released a recent edition for many years now, which means that they are now out dated.

Recommendations:
-If you want a good review course, go with Kaplan. They are the gold standard of MCAT/LSAT review.
-You may consider going to the AAMC's MCAT page and download the PDF document that list all the topics covered on the MCAT and look them up on your own using textbooks and other sources.
-Practice lost of problems.
-Take lots of practice test.

3 out of 5 stars A good list of what to study   August 3, 2010
krysmic
These books have given me a good list of what to study for the MCAT, but many times I have to go to other sources (the internet, text books) to actually understand the concepts. At times they go into too much or too little detail. Although these books have helped me do well on the MCAT, the endless typos have driven me nuts for the last few months. The typos are mostly spelling errors, but come on! Can't you pay someone to just fix the spelling errors?

3 out of 5 stars Good, but with catches   August 3, 2010

I've been using the Examkrackers book to study for the MCAT this summer (haven't taken it yet, so I can't tell you how smart it makes you). The content itself seems to be very good and comprehensive, clearly delineating what you need to know for the MCAT and what is superfluous knowledge. This is despite the fact that the text is very poorly edited; it seems there's at least one grammatical error or typo per chapter. This sort of makes me question their credibility. My major complaint, however, is that in the textbooks themselves, they offer their website [...] as a place where you can go to read more indepth explanations to the practice problems as well as find a list of all the errors that have been discovered in the book since it's publication (and report new ones as well). What they don't tell you is that you have to pay for these services. To me it seems a bit crooked and underhanded to sell you a book and then make you pay to find out what's wrong with it.
